Our Mission

Thom witnessed first-hand how critical the situation is in Swaziland and understands the critical need for direct impact programs in Swaziland and other HIV/AIDS and poverty ravaged regions. Upon returning from a safari and philanthropy visit to Africa with his children, he realized that somehow he could use his fortune in winning a lottery slot to the Ironman World Championship to catalyze a grass-roots effort . . . much like athletes pledging money for cancer research organizations. To formalize this effort and create an evergreen direct impact agenda, Thom and some former colleagues with similar awareness of the true need for direct impact assistance have founded Empower Another.

Although many national organizations and government agencies are attempting to address macro-issues in these regions, the people on the ground and orphans left behind from the HIV/AIDS pandemic are struggling to survive day to day. Empower Another will support direct impact and self-sustainability programs, such as The Cabrini Mission Foundation/St. Philip's Mission, which have a well-established track record of successfully treating, housing and/or educating children who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. Through the founders’ relationships at the U.S. Embassy in Swaziland as well as the U.S. Government’s HIV/AIDS Coordinator in Swaziland, Empower Another has identified several individual operations that work on a local, often even on a "neighborhood" or "village" basis that need additional funding to serve the immediate needs of the thousands of HIV/AIDS orphans and their families.

This is where your donation to Empower Another is crucial – every cent you donate will go directly to impact mitigation programs like St. Philip's and to orphans/vulnerable children in Swaziland and other HIV/AIDS, malaria and poverty ravaged regions. All of Empower Another's operating costs and expenses will be funded by the Founder so 100% of your donation will directly or indirectly reach the targeted children and their community. No grant writing, no soliciting funds from large government organizations, no time spent waiting to receive the funds. Your donation will make a direct and much needed impact.
